Join us on Thursday, May 19, 2022 at 7:00pm for the launch of The Sanctuary Course—revised and improved! Gather with local churches and Sanctuary supporters at Tenth Church in Mount Pleasant for an evening of food, music, and community.

We believe that listening to the voices of those with lived experience of mental health challenges can be transformative for communities of faith. We are so excited to give you a preview of several new films featuring stories of Christians with lived experience. One of our interviewees, Matthew Martin, will be on hand to share about his faith, living with anxiety, and the process of making a film with Sanctuary.

We will also hear from pastors and course facilitators who have seen firsthand the difference that The Sanctuary Course can make in a community. Our programming team will share the exciting new features of the course, and highlight some of the important feedback from local churches that inspired this revised version.

Doors will open at 6:30pm, so be sure to arrive early to enjoy live music and complimentary snacks. Our program will start at 7:00pm, and after we wrap up you’re encouraged to stay and chat with Sanctuary team members, other church leaders, and people in the Lower Mainland who are passionate about the mental health and faith conversation.

We know that many people and churches around the world use Sanctuary’s resources, so for those who aren’t able to attend the event in Vancouver: you are invited to join us via livestream on YouTube.

The event RSVP is to help us plan for in-person attendees, so if you are planning to join us virtually, no need to RSVP here—but be sure to say hello to us and let us know where you are tuning in from in the YouTube chatbox during the event!

We hope this event will be not only a time of celebration, but a source of encouragement for the individuals and communities working to create sanctuaries where everyone is welcomed at every stage of their mental health journeys.

-

This event will follow all PHO orders. This currently means masks and vaccine passports are not required; any changes based on government guidance will be communicated in advance of the event.

EXCITING CHANGES AHEAD FOR SANCTUARY

On May 4, 2022 Sanctuary will launch a revised and improved version of The Sanctuary Course as well as an all-new website and online resource portal for a better user experience and simple access to all of our resources. We want to celebrate all of this with Sanctuary's firends and supporters—everyone is invited to join us on May 19th!

The new version of The Sanctuary Course and all of our resources will remain free for everyone. We are very grateful for our supporters who are helping us grow, expand our technologies, and develop new resources to reach more people around the world, equipping churches to support mental health and wellbeing.

PRAY

You are welcome to join us in prayer. Please pray that people experiencing mental health challenges will find support within the Church, that those churches will be well-equipped to support mental wellbeing, and that Sanctuary can continue its work while raising awareness about mental health and reducing stigma.

GIVE

Our organization relies fully on financial support from people who are passionate about supporting mental health and wellbeing. We encourage you to consider giving a one time or recurring gift. We recently launched Alongside, our monthly donor club. As an Alongsider, you’ll be journeying not only with Sanctuary, but also with the people impacted through our resources. No minimum donation is required. Donations are tax-receiptable in Canada, the United States, or the UK.
